Smallrigg is a working dairy farm. Only 10 minutes from the motorway network makes it an ideal stop over when travelling both North and South. The house enjoys extensive views, from its elevated position, over the surrounding countryside. The comfortable central heated accommodation offers one double bedded room with en-suite facilities on the ground floor and one twin bedded room with private facilities on the first floor, and guest lounge with TV. There is a farm trail on Smallrigg created by the FWAG project "Linking sustainable farming, tourism & biodiversity". Guests are welcome to follow the trail and see first hand the practices which help maintain the countryside. No Pets. |
Lochmaben is quite a pretty small town. It has 4 Lochs: The largest is castle Loch, the wildlife interest here is considerable. Kirk Loch has on its banks a caravan park and the 18 hole golf course with spectacular views. Mill Loch is on the Templand Road and Hightae Mill Loch is bordered by the land here at Smallrigg and along with Castle Loch is a designated nature reserve.
